There is something about these two people that reminded me so much of when I got married myself. It had something to do with stars in the eyes, complete devotion, and the way these two young people truly cherished each other, and treasured being together. It was an honor to be a part of such an intimate and lovely ceremony.
The bride wore an exquisite dress, and she photographed like a vintage movie star. The groom held her hand as she got ready, and continued to do so throughout the day.
I first met Selena when she was in high school with my oldest daughter. I knew her sisters better, because they had close ties to my own girls. Selena graduated the year before, but when I met her throughout the years she was quiet and friendly, and seemed sweet. That sweetness shone throughout her wedding day, in her love for her friends and her new husband. I did not meet Chris until the wedding day, but knew his sister and mother very well from attending the same church for many years together. He, too, was a kind and gentle person, and it was a pleasure to get to know him better that day.
The summery beach colors of the bridesmaids gowns, flowers, and centerpieces filled with M&Ms were both fun and whimsical, and full of lighthearted charm. Every detail had meaning, from the father of the bride wearing her grandfather's tie to the couples' rings. Chris made Selena's wedding ring out of a Silver Eagle coin that was given to him by his Uncle. A jeweler sized the ring and added a diamond originally worn by Chris's mother (Lori). Selena's engagement ring was originally worn by Chris's great grandmother (Lori's grandmother). It was truly a treasure to spend such a lovely day watching these two join together in marriage.
