Can I just say, I LOVE this couple!
I first met Caitlyn and John in Annapolis, where they were visiting Caitlyn's mother, soon after their engagement. Their mother, Linda, a sweet friend of mine, decided to surprise them with some engagement photos while they were in town. The couple lives in Wisconsin, but had begun their relationship in Annapolis, Caitlyn's hometown. The engagement session went wonderfully. They were fun loving, happy, and genuine... just the kindest and sweetest couple you could ever meet.
By the end of our photo session, we were laughing and having a lovely time, and John and Caitlyn mentioned that they wished I could cover their wedding, but they were having a destination wedding in Oak Island, NC. I laughed, "Hey! I'll travel down there for you and cover the wedding!" Well, after that it was settled, and I had the honor of traveling along and witnessing their marriage and documenting it in photographs. Adding to the fun of the wedding for me, was getting to cover it with my own sweet aunt who was my second photographer for the event. She did an amazing job, and spending that weekend with her proved to me a lovely (and long time coming) road trip for us both.
Caitlyn's choice of dark blue and coral color scheme was just beautiful, and the nautical themed decor, complete with starfish, fish netting, and a real ocean breeze, made for an evening that no guests at the 801 Ocean wedding venue will soon forget. The bride and groom had 7 attendants each, and the most adorable flower girl and ring bearer (or as they called them "ring security" and "petal princess"), along with several other young helpers who assisted in passing out waters and sunglasses as well as programs to the guests.
It was truly a pleasure to see these two lovely families come together for what, I am sure, will be a lifetime of fun, joy, and laughter.
